Smart locks - our locksmiths training programme's got it covered

We don't just design and make locks:we help develop talent. We are access control industry experts and have been providing comprehensive locksmiths training since 2012. Working more closely with the people who install and service our locks on a daily basis gives us valuable feedback, allowing us to develop new products. In return, we give them the opportunity to gain free access to expert tuition. Our newly-developed training programme, running from Autumn 2016, introduces our wireless 'smart' locks for the first time. It provides locksmiths with the opportunity to keep up to date with the latest technology, learn more about industry developments, and refresh their skills and technical knowledge.

New Building

This year's training sessions will be held in our brand new, purpose-built UK head office in Newbury. We are introducing our new CL5500 smart lock range to the programme. These smart locks focus on convenience and control, with a variety of advanced programming options. Entry methods include the use of a keypad code, smart card, or smartphone, enabling users to choose the most suitable access method. The wireless capabilities offer access control features that exceed traditional mechanical or standalone electronic locks, such as downloadable Audit Trail data.

New Staff

In 2016, we have welcomed several new employees to Codelocks, all of whom bring expertise gained from years of experience in the security industry. Our new training programme has benefitted from their insightful input. Jo Milne-Rowe, Business Development Manager and Chairperson of the South East Institute of Architectural Ironmongers (IAI), is assisting with the ongoing development and delivery of the programme, ensuring that it meets varying customer needs. The team delivering the training programme includes Colin Campbell, our newly appointed Sales Director, who will be drawing on his 20 years of experience in the industry, which includes overseeing the expansion of Codelocks' international sales and product development.

New Training

Our training is practical and hands-on, designed with locksmiths in mind. It aims to develop all attendee's knowledge of access control, by offering product demonstrations, installation and product advice, as well as tips for servicing and programming. There is an opportunity to ask questions and find the solutions to any complex access control dilemmas, ensuring everyone gets the most out of the sessions. By understanding the benefits of each of our locks and discovering which access control solutions overcome customer challenges, locksmiths will be able to identify new business opportunities.

We are proud that 100% of the locksmiths who have attended previous training sessions agree that they had benefitted from the practical experience and knowledge they gained. Testimonials from previous training sessions:

"A very informative training course and vital to any locksmith unfamiliar with Codelocks products."

"It was excellent, I got all the info I needed and now I feel as though I have more lock options for my customers than I currently fit."

If you'd like to attend one of our free training sessions, we invite you to register your interest here. Training will commence in Autumn 2016. Dates to be confirmed.

If you are looking for specific training that is not covered by our programme, we can also provide bespoke training sessions to suit your needs, contact us for more information.
